⚠ Critical Sizing Distinction: "Attaches to Seatbelt" is NOT equal to "Crash-Tested" Many cheap harness brands sell direct straps that buckle into your vehicle's seat belt socket. In CPS tests, these straps frequently ruptured or snapped plastic buckles, throwing the dog forward as a projectile. A real certified harness uses high-tensile steel loop nested buckles.

IATA Regulation

IATA CR82 Cargo Container Requirements

If your dog is traveling via air cargo, major international airlines strictly enforce the IATA Container Requirement 82 (CR82). There is zero room for sizing errors; failure to comply results in same-day denial at checkout.

Key CR82 Structural Standards:

No Plastic Latches: The top and bottom halves of the crate must be bolted together with metal nuts and bolts. Plastic twist-locks are strictly banned.
Solid Water Bowls: Dual water and food bowls must be securely hooked to the inner metal door, accessible to airline staff from outside without opening the gate.
No Wheels: All caster wheels must be completely removed or taped off before loading.
Solid Metal Door: No plastic gates. Heavy gauge wire grids only.

The Golden Sizing Formula:

To pass check-in checks, the crate dimensions must meet these limits:

Crate Height ≥ Pet height to top of ears/head + 4 inches (10 cm).
Crate Length ≥ Back length to root of tail + half of front leg length.
Crate Width ≥ Twice the pet's shoulder width.

*Note: Flat-faced (Brachycephalic) breeds are often banned entirely from cargo flight due to temperature-controlled airway collapse risks.
